things i love....november edition. christmas gift ideas.

we are finally getting much needed rain today.  so much rain is predicted that my daughters have a day off from school.  their school is located near a recent burn area, meaning all of the vegetation surrounding their school was burned.  which, unfortunately, leads to mudslides when it rains!

this was their school earlier this year!
so thankful that it didn't burn.

for thanksgiving we had 85 degree weather...so i'm loving this cool and rainy weather.  feels like december weather.

thanksgiving was lovely.  we had a small crowd of 14.  in-laws, cousins, grandma, mom and our little family.  the food was great.  my mother-in-law did most of the cooking, she is wonderful like that!  i only had to make the dessert.  i hope you had a nice thanksgiving, as well.

i've done a lot of christmas shopping already.  which leads into my favorite things for last month (november).  a lot of these things are great gift ideas.

for the teen girl in your life.  chic buds are ear buds with a flat, no tangle cord!  how great is that?! and they are only $15.  they come in a variety of fun prints too.

if your daughter or son is anything like mine, they are always on their phones and frequently taking selfies.  so i love this next product.  it's called a shutterball, it's a remote shutter release that allows you (via bluetooth) to take photos at up to 60 ft.  my daughter will love this.  it's $25.

this next product, i got for my daughter's birthday last month.  it's super soft fleece and so cute, a cozy zoe animal hoodie.  it feels like you are wearing a cozy blanket.  i think any girl (at any age) would love this.  it's $54 from nordstrom.

seriously, how cute is this?

slippers!  i looooove wearing slippers.  so does my husband, so here's a gift idea for a man or woman in your life.  l.l. bean (i think) has the best slippers.  i've had my hearthside slippers forever.  they are long lasting and so comfy.  they are $40.  the bean's fleece scuffs are super popular, top rated on their site and they have a style for men and women.  they are also $40.  can't go wrong with these for a gift.  think my husband is getting a pair of these this year.   and l.l. bean is having a 10% off sale today - promo code thanks10.

fleece slipper scuffs
for a lovely hostess gift, i think these wine glasses are perfect.  i have them, they are fun and inexpensive - only $6 each.  your party hosts can use them each year and you can also give them a bottle of wine to go with it. which leads to my favorite wine.  root:1 wine from chile.  i buy it from bevmo and it's my "go to" wine, i'm never disappointed.  it's about $12 per bottle at bevmo.

books...they make great gifts.  for the man, woman, child, teen...anybody!  you can go with a classic story, a cookbook, a biography, a non-fiction thriller, a mystery....so many possibilities.
here's a few of my favorites.

humans of new york  - i follow this photographer on instagram, if you don't....you really should.  the book is beautiful.

ina garten - i love watching her on the food network, i have several of her cookbooks.  she's just a classic, delightful chef.  i love her story and her cookbooks.

the great gatsby by f. scott fitzgerald - it would be great to pair this book with the dvd (starring leonardo dicaprio) and some popcorn for a fun literary themed basket.

i really could go on...and on...and on.  i love to shop and i usually give great gifts.  i may continue my gift ideas in another post.

thank you for reading.  happy shopping.

happy birthday to me.  i'm off to celebrate.

this is my fresh look.
